THE SAGA CONTINUES

I seem to have lost the last half of my last posting. It Probably is just as well because it was a continuation of the "Lady and the Broken Wrist" story. Let's just say that said woman is stupid and it annoys me. OK? I am finally of until after Christmas, but there is still a lot of getting ready for Christmas before the actual arrival time O well it will come weather I AM READY FOR IT or not. I can see why I am not a sec. or other person that needs to type for her job. I would not have it long. I was whining about how insecure I feel in every thing I do. I don't get Christmas ready. I don't get my stuff put away. I don't get any positive feedback at work., so I assume they do not like me, so then I try harder and still do not get any thank yous etc. I start to feel totally hopeless and worthless because nobody recognizes my work. On and on and on. Well at least I keep the dogs happy. I don't know about DH because he is not one to express any emotion at all. so I am in a can't win frame of mind. I would like to be able to send pictures on occasion on this blog. but I have no camera. I really enjoy the pictures I get on your blogs. I have a ? however. What has happened to the pictures , now when I click to see them in a bigger size they suddenly become so big that they over flow the screen and I don't get a photo I can download because it is too big for the screen. What could be the reason for this sudden change in picture downloads? Anyway I do enjoy the blogs I read and just wish mine were more interesting and "pretty". Hope to see/ hear or read from you again soon.

Well today I actually assembled my "telephone stand" that I wanted to hsve so I could have some semblance of order for my magazines and other "I will save this for awhile" papers. It only took me two hours. I wish manufactures wouldn't provide screws without phillips heads, I can never find the right size screwdriver for the screw. They also put in odd angles that make it impossible to get at unless you are a contortionist with a screwdriver handle that can bend at any angle in order to be able to see it and reach it! I supose it will work, but darn it, it somehow doesn't quite fit together like I would like it too. I have had more of the same at work. The cook that came over to Morris with me went on vacation to Hawaii the first week of Dec. to visit her son who is in the military. While she was there she slipped on some rocks fell and broke her wrist. She won't be back until the end of Jan.I am pretty disgusted with her. She was supposed to help me on the evening shift. YEAH RIGHT! She hasn't worked one day on the evening shift. It is well know that she doesn't want to work the dinner shift. She refused to work it at the Cannon center so why should it be any different now! One of the reasons management big wigs moved us all around was because Morris center needed an extra cook to help with the heavy takeout season that comes between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some help she turned out to be. I cannot help be think that she sort of unconsciencely caused her fall. what person in their right mind goes climbing on slippery rocks near the ocean in FLIP FLOPS? Have big Christmas dinner to make Thurs consisting of Prime Rib and Cornish game hens, Online shopping for the Bowlings and us. Hope it gets there before CHRISTMAS. What happened to said truck. I mean did you get new truck or new engine? I assume that H and DW are home now. I would suggest cell phone for safety and AAA for road service. I have both and am glad I do.

GREMILINS and/or MURPHY

Well Sunday turned out to be a n interesting day. It is a good thing that it was fast Sunday and we didn't have to have dinner out until 3:00 or we would not have made it. First off I thought I had to be there at 9:30 which is what time I got there. I found out it was really 9:00 I was supposed to be there, but since I was the only one there until 10:30 it was OK. We were supposed to have pork roast and shrimp for dinner. I couldn;t find the roast in the ovens where it was supposed to have been put earlir by the chef. Well we found out the it was roast tender loins not loin roast. (By then my fellow cook was there). We preceded to prepare the rest of the meal, We had called the chef and he told us how to cook said tenderloins.About one hour before the meal we discovered that we didn't have the shrimp, it had not been ordered, We happened upon 31 cases of chicken cordon bleu so we used that. Whenmaking the potatoes a piece of plastic fell in the batch and we couldn't find it thus having to throw those out and make more. The manager on duty burned the rolls. Someone got enthusiastic and threw out everything I had in my"mailbox" the day before. I had a binder with paper work in it. Well we finally got the food out and ready to go (minus the hot dinner rolls and with cordon bleu instead of shrimp) The final straw came when just as I was getting ready to go eat, I hadn't eaten since 8:00, my fellow helper went out to eat leaving me there while he and his family ate dinner. We are required by law to take a break after five hours. and I only had one hr left before my shift was up. While he was out there we ran out of potatoes and cordon bleu, All of the students had gone homt but the one frying chicken for the fried chicken bar which we also have on Sun. So here I am trying to mmake mashed potatoes and bake more chicken cordon bleu at the same time! The finally came back in and when I told him we needed potatoes He promptly left the kitchen and didn't come. The manager on duty finally called him to the kitchen over thr intercom. By the it was 5:00. I finished baking the cordon bleu and checked out for dinner. I ate dinner and then went home leaving him toclean up. He is not a full time person so technically he is under me but he doesn't seam to like that and is constiantly thinking I don't know what i am talking about. Anyway I left him the mess. Monday was better, but long I had Tues off but I then have to work thru Sat with only Sun off, so my Christmas doings do not get much attention.

Im Backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

Well I don't know if I will write more often or not, but I,ll try.I never have been much of a journal keeper, It takes me so long to write it vs how long I think it. { I think much faster} This week of not working was a bummer. I get worn out when I work but I don,t do hardly anything when I am home for awhile. I am still trying to put away all of the stuff I got for Christmas last Year. I bought us a CD a DVD player but it is still sitting in the box. My VTs husband came to help me set it up and it needed a coaxil, he supposedaly got one for me but I have yet to have him install it. He is home when I am not and vice versa. She keeps telling me they will come over sometime and set it up. I can call them anytime I am home, but I don't get home until 9:30 P.M. which is not a time they would want to come over at.
At least for me it would not be!.I went to Ottos for Thanksgiving. The food was good but the company wasn't too good. They had two of their children there with there mulitude of children. The one family sat and watched video tapes of peoples weddings. Their Mother does them as a business. All the children tere still live at home, but one so they brought them to show her. BORRING! The music she had used as background music was awful. It was rock music for crying out loud. They kept playing it over and over again. Enough already. Every time I tried to enter a conversation they changed the subject. Jerry and Anna were there also. so I tried starting a conversation with Jerry. That was a mistake. He apparently wasn't in the mood in fact he was down right cranky. I picked up my keys and went out to the car. Where was DH you ask. setting with his face in a book reading, of course. Anyway I eventually got some pie and then we went home. I felt like a fish out of water. I really was longing for some people that were normal ie Sorensons. People that didn't put on airs or shut people out. People who are regular down to earth people who don't have to be better than others and play stupid videos over and over again. We talk to each other.I was lonesome for home. I haven't heard from lil Bro about Hol I hope she is doing better. We are supposed to get a nasty snowstorm tonight and tomarrow(Tues) anticapating driving in that slop always gives me the willies. I am scared to drive all winter. I HATE IT! At least I don't have to be at work until noon. But that means I have to drive home at 9:00 P. M. instead! Yikes!

It has been two weeks

Well. it has been 2 weeks since I started at the Morris center. It has been a mixed bag. I have less confidence now than when I started. I had a lot of confidence whan I started. but I am slowly loosing it. I felt really in charge at first. Just came in and did my job like I had done it at Cannon center. I felt on top of the world. Then all of the ways I hade been trained to do things seemed to be wrong. They prepared almost all of the dishes differently than Cannon did. They actually followed the recipies. ( I approved of that) but they are really short of help and the help they have only comes in when the mood hits them. Today is only my second day off in 14 days. I am probably tierd. Anyway I feel just a little less certain about ny abilities than I used to (at the Cannon Center) It is a whole lot quieter here. but it also more laid back then I like. I try hard but I seen tp fall short, at least in my eyes. This is an ongoing problem with me however. I never quite measure up to my expactations of myself.

Still more changes

Now I have a furnace. It is nice and warm now. I took Thurs. off for the furnace install. The next day I report to work and the boss asks to see me for a min. I was informed that starting Sat Nov 4, I will be working at the Morris center instead of the Cannon center. No asking if I want to or not. I will be the Dinner cook. I have beem working the dinner shift at Cannon center, so the time is good, but I was in the salad area, a lot easier to do. It seems that the Morris center is short cooks, so I got volenteered "The Army Way". I am not so sure about it, but the only choices are go to Morris or the Highway. Well Morris it is! Actually the boss had no choice either because THE BIG BOSS! has the Decision. Three other Cannon Cooks are going with me so I am not alone.

Oh No Not Again

I can't believe it. DH is in the hospital again!! It is the third time this year. It has gotten old in a hurry. There is nothing like an emergancy room visit that lasts 7 hrs to wear you out. C'est la vive

NOT LAZY --WEEKLY LIST

I discovered that I'm not as lazy as I had supposed myself. After 10 things I did this week I saw that I really do accomplish things. Thay are just in the boring catagory.
1. Succeeded in getting to work all five days this week, even though I should have stayed in bed on one of them.
2. Cooked for over 1000 students (two meals. so actually 2000)
3. Succeeded in NOT showing my irratation to a particular worker that I have trouble
with.( I am the supervisor).
5. Watched LDS Conference. (all sessions)
6. Went to the Dr.
7. Paid all my bills and still had some $ leftover.
8. Fed the dogs everynight after I got home.
9. Baked a cake for us (DH andI)
10. Made dinner for us 3 times. DH made the others.

As you can see. I do things but. fun sort of gets left out.
