Where are you?

Merry Christmas everyone. Even Marbles sister. I have been blocked from your blog. I hope I haven't offended you in anyway. I need an invite to get into it. I saw it earlier today, so something went haywire somewhere today. I have had a good holiday. I tried to call Mom, but so far she hasn't answered the phone. All is well here. I feel like a rejected family member today. I certainly hope that is not the case. I had dinner with DH brother and his wife. it was a pleasant few hours.

Sigh!

Surprise! I am writing on this blog. I have done a lot of thinking and reflecting on things lately. I often wonder if all there is in life is to go to work, come home, collapse from exhaustion. Go to sleep. Start all over again. It seems that that is about all my has been so far. Today someone did me a kindness and I just about cried. my manager helped me by getting me a chair and helping me be seated at a Christmas Pot Luck that we had at work today. I thought "What a gentleman" Then I realized how often I have been given such a kindness at work especially, but also generally. I wondered why I have had such a hard time with bosses in my working life! In my private life and social life. It made me sad to realize how I had been treated. I wondered if it was my fault or someone elses. I thought I deserve respect. I am so thankful to big bro and his son who shoveled my driveway last Saturday. And son also went to the mail box down the street and got my mail for me. I appreciate such kindnesses!

I am not to happy about this. My history of success in "production" jobs is dismal. Just as the weather is getting cold, we start working in the refrigerator. But what worries me the most is getting to work on time, and only having access to the bathroom when we all get a break, I am thinking I might have to wear Depends at work. I have to get a bunch of long sleeve shirts because it might be cold. I think it will be better than boiling hot all day! Pray for me, Please? I need too make it for 15-18 months until I can retire!

It's About Time!

I am going to play the name game: then I will update on what I am doing. I hope I have figured out how to make a list.We will see if it works.

I have been very busy lately. I am so tired when I get home that instead of tackling my "to do" list I end up sleeping. I went to Wally world and did some shopping for groceries on the 4Th of July. This is the 2Nd time I have shopped for groceries there. I am sold. I have been spending over $100.00 every week. I can get a bigger selection of items for less money. &60.00 last week, for the same amount or even more than before, Yippee.

EWWWW!

Talk about a creep out. On Monday of this week it came to my attention, as well as several other peoples in the kitchen, that we were not alone in the kitchen. We had many little critters with us. These little critters were coming out of a drain grate on the salad areas floor. The grate was covered by a table so it was hard to clean. I immediately felt that me body was crawling with bugs. I was glad that my shift was almost over because I wanted to get out of there. We have a full time exterminator working for the Univ. He comes every week. Finally, the manager of our facility came over and saw the infestation. He said that it was the worst one he had ever seen. That evening the exterminator came over and put poison, ( to the bugs, not us) all over the area. he has come several times again this week. The manager has also hired a janitorial person to clean the floors etc. every night. We haven't had one since last summer. We are supposed to have been cleaning up our areas every night before we go home, which we have been doing. The problem with that is that by the time we have gotten all of our work done, a lot of us have already worked over 8 hrs already. We are not supposed to get overtime hours and we are already exhausted. we have been sweeping and trash emptying and damp mopping the floors, with cold water and a premixed sanitation solution, The mops are also in need of a washing themselves. Any way, the critters seem to be dying off, except for the fact that today I was preparing a meat and cheese tray when one of the critters suddenly appeared and ran across my arm. I can hardly wait to get into our brand new facilities, hopefully by Sept. 1. I hope that the critters stay behind.

Bored

It has been a boring few weeks. I took a week off the week before last. I spent most of the time sleeping. I think I got, at the most, three more boxes unpacked. It is the calm before the storm. The day after Memorial day we start EFY groups. I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED. not! At the end we are supposed to be in the central Support Center (the behind the scenes food and veggie and salad and sandwich prep people) I am glad that I will be there, because I would much rather be there than display cooking at the new Cannon center. I certainly do not want to do the MTC over the Christmas holidays again. I do not think I will take anymore Vacation days until then. By then I should have about 2 weeks vacation time. While I was on vacation, I picked out a headstone for DH and I. They sent me a draft and I promptly sent it back with the notation that they had my name spelled wrong. They had better spell it right. I told them and wrote out how it should spelled. If they screw it up it will be their fault. They had better not A unwelcome thought came to me today. Do you realize that just a few days after a month from now that it will be the "longest day of the year" and then we will be on the downhill side again!!! This is indeed a scary thought. I am well, but bored and somewhat lonely right now. I will be alright but I sure miss going out to dinner, and also have lost all intrest in making dinners from scratch, or at least from fresh meat and canned or frozen veggies. I have entertained the thought of learing how to make bread from scratch, Maybe I will give it a try sometime soon. I think I will need either a bosh mixer, grinder or a Kitchen Aid Mixer. My computer is about ready yo bite the dust. Any ideas about which ones to buy and how much memory to get. I do indexing for the Family History Center. I will need a lot more memory than I have on this one. I don't know how much memory I have, but it is not enough. My computer does not have enough memory either. Hope all is well with all of you.

Hard Hats and Robins

What do hard hats and robins have in common, you might ask. Nothing except that I have had encounters with both this week. Today I and a few of my fellow workers at the Morris center got to take a tour of the up and coming Central Production Kitchen. We Were supposed to take control of it on April 1, 2009. Well the projected date of the date of possession is September 1st. Anyway it is still mostly a cement building with many coolers, freezers, and production areas. It looks like we will have plenty of work to do. It is going to be more like a factory, assembly line type thing. We may even run two shifts. One really early. Or late depending on how you look at it, Some people are probably going to start at 10 p.m. Especially bakery and ice cream makers. Supposedly we should be sending out fresh cut veggies, fruit and other things by 4:00 a.m. Oh goody! Those of us who will be working in "veg prep", and "garmashay" will be working in a refrigerated environment. That is in rooms kept at 43 degrees. I don.t know about that, but I think it would be preferable to the stifling heat we work in now. There are very few days when I am too cold. Most of the time I am boiling hot! Many in the department, especially the thin tiny women are cold, and want all the air circulators turned off. Meanwhile. all I want is to be able to get fresh air and to stop sweating "like a butcher" as Grandma H would say. I really think I wouldn't be so exhausted after work if I could get a little air and coolness. If it gets to cold in the work stations, we can always add clothes, we can't take them off! Now to the Robins. For the last two days. when I get out to the garage in the morning I have heard this tapping at the garage window. When I first heard it I "thought, What the hey"? upon further investigation, I discover a big fat robin fighting the robin in the window, Every time he attacked his foe, it attacked him right back. He just wouldn't back down. I waved my arms, and he flew away, but was back at war with himself before I got back in the car to go to work. Yesterday he was gone by the time got home around 6:30 p.m. yesterday he was gone. This morning he was back, and of course so was his opponent. When I got back today at around 4:30 p.m. he was still at it. I got out of my car and went and looked in the window, and sure enough there I was looking at myself. He had managed to knock off the screen and poop a lot on the window sill. His opponent just won't get out of his territory.

WHAT HAPPENED TO FEBRUARY?

I can not believe it is March already. Even though Feb. is a dreary month, and it seems that it was never going to end, It seems to have flown by. At work they are already planning for September. Didn't we just have that month? I am still trying to get all of the boxes unpacked. The box with my scriptures is still undiscovered. I am starting to find dust, and cat hair accumulations, which means that I had better find my broom or buy a new one. I think my brand new broom that I searched for for several weeks is now in the ownership of the moving company. I bought a new one but it is not the kind I wanted. Sigh. The good mood I was in all through Jan and half of
Feb has left me. That is the mood I like because I feel soooooooooo much better. I wish I could figure out how too capture that mood and keep it. Why do I have such a struggle staying upbeat and happy and feeling alive? I wish I knew where the magic potion was. I have been going to work and coming home. I try to do a little bit of house work and unpacking along with fixing my dinner. Unfortunately sleep and exhaustion overcomes most of my efforts. It is nice to see that a new child has entered the family. She is darling. We do seem to produce beautiful and sweet children in this family, Well at least the rest of you do. I have discovered tulips coming up in the flower beds here. Yippee!

Checking In

I really don't have that much to say, but thought I would check in to let you know that I am still around. I am really enjoying my new house. I am glad that I did not paint the interior. The furniture I have and the pictures I have look really good on the walls. Yesterday People from my former ward came over to halp me unpack. All of the boxes that were in my living room are unpacked and most of the boxes in the other rooms are also. It is nice to have most of that done. I didn't realize how much food I had until we started unpacking it. I am feeling alot better lately. I hope that I have not jinxed myself by saying that! First we had snow I unbelivable amounts of snow. So much snow that I got stuck twice in one day! Before work, in my driveway and then after work when I couldn't get out. That was a sticky day. Now we have fog! Our roads haven't been plowed since the big snow, so now they are pitted with ruts and ice bumps. Sigh!
